Despite a lack of first-team action yesterday due to Stirling Albion’s rearranged Scottish Cup tie with Wick Academy, there were a few ‘Gers in action with a number of the club’s Development Team players featuring for their loan clubs.

Kyle Scott netted a winner for Penicuik Athletic, securing a 1-0 victory that leaves his side 3rd in the McBookie.com East Super League.

Elsewhere, Ryan Porter enjoyed his weekend, netting a brace for Arniston Rangers in a 2-1 win over Haddington Athletic. Haddington completed a one-month loan deal for ‘keeper Grant Goodfellow prior to the game, the 18 year old providing cover for Hi-Hi’s first-choice Sinclair Inglis, who picked up a knock recently.

Ethan Anderson was another Berwick youngster to find the net for Crossgates Primrose, the Rose demolishing Livingston United in a 6-0 win. Young stopper Stuart Allan also picked up a clean sheet in the win.

The ‘Gers Development Team currently sit on top of the SPFL Development League East with games in hand, and with our youngsters continuing to make strides in their development during their respective loan spells it looks as though the work of Derek McKenzie and his team is already paying dividends.

Berwick’s first-team game against Stirling Albion will now be played this Tuesday 6th December, with a 7:45pm kick-off.
