McKenna penalty earns three points

A Michael McKenna penalty in the 80th minute was enough to give Berwick a second 1-0 victory of the season over Cowdenbeath at a blustery Shielfield Park yesterday. It was a tight affair with the wind making it difficult for both teams to string together cohesive attacks. Manager Robbie Horn and goalkeeper Robbie McCrorie give their post match thoughts to Eric Tait in the interviews below.

The result moves Berwick up to sixth place on 15 points two points ahead of next week’s opponents Annan Athletic and put us 10 points clear of Cowdenbeath who remain bottom. Elsewhere Montrose’s win puts them 2 points behind leaders Stirling Albion who lost at home to Stenhousemuir.

The Social Media Man of the Match award went to Marcus Godinho in a vote which was split across quite a number of different players and the sponsors award on matchday went to Steven Thomson.
