Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Stirling Albion – Ladbrokes League Two

Shielfield Park welcomes Dave Mackay and his second placed Stirling Albion side for the next league fixture in this seasons Ladbrokes Scottish League Two. The game kicks off at 3pm.

The Binos travel down to Berwick having not tasted league action since 11th November due to enforced re-arrangement of matches. They arrive trying to protect an unbeaten away record in League Two in 2017/18.

Robbie Horn and the ‘Gers will be looking for a reaction following the disappointing result at Elgin last week. Horn will also be looking for an improvement from the second game of this league campaign when John Coughlin’s Berwick were resoundingly beaten 4-0 at Forthbank in August.

Both teams have stuttered somewhat of late with Berwick registering a solitary win in their last 5 league games and Stirling dropping from the top with 2 wins in the same period.

Berwick will be wary of Darren Smith leading the line for Stirling, as he netted twice in the earlier encounter this season and also scored the only goal on the Binos last visit to Shielfield Park in April at the back end of last season.

Berwick News

Berwick have virtually a full squad to pick from as Horn looks for some home comforts to kick start the festive period.

Kevin Waugh is out injured and Jack Cook is also a major doubt.

Horn has commented that he wants to see a strong reaction from his side as the ‘Gers look to climb the table.

Stirling Albion News

Dave Mackay is hoping to have Peter McDonald back fit and available, or atleast fit enough for the bench. Any Little remains a long-term absentee and left-back Steven Noble is still sidelined with a thigh injury. Liam Caddis and Scott Davidson are expected to be available. Recent emergency loan signing, Cammy Thomson, from St Johnstone could go straight into the side due to the injuries. Thomson celebrated his 18th birthday last week and will be looking to make an impression.

Stirling have a squad capable of goals with Darren Smith (12 goals) and Callum Morrison (8 goals) leading the charts.
