Match Preview : Berwick Rangers v Montrose FC – Ladbrokes League Two

Berwick are at home at Shielfield Park for the second Saturday running as we welcome Montrose FC to town for a Ladbrokes League Two fixture.

This fixture represents the final one of the first nine games of the season, meaning that Berwick have played each team in the league after this Saturday.

Robbie Horn and his team will be hoping to continue their recent form from the last two games, with both fixtures resulting in clean sheets and victories.

They will also be hoping to fare better against Montrose than last season when the four league encounters yielded just one point and two goals.

Berwick News

Robbie Horn is trying to build a level of consistency and has reiterated the importance of putting a run of results together. Horn has acknowledged the job that Stewart Petrie has done at Montrose and is expecting a tight game.

The recent winning form is expected to result in minimal changes to the side, although Marcus Godinho returns to the squad having been unavailable for the Scottish Cup tie last weekend.

Callum Donaldson picked up an injury whilst training with Hibernian and Jack Cook picked up an ankle injury playing for the development squad during the week.

Montrose News

Stewart Petrie will also be looking to build on a good Cup win from last time out, when Craig Johnston netted his first two goals for the club in a man of the match performance. Andrew Steeves notched his 100th appearance for the club in that victory and Chris Templeman will be looking to add to his three league goals so far in 2017/18. The Gable Endies have only lost once on the road in the league campaign to date.
