Striker Blair Henderson may not have found the net himself on Saturday, but an unselfish workmanlike performance against a heavy-handed Arbroath defence has earned him the plaudits of fans with a clear victory in this weekend’s Social Media Man of the Match award.

Blair, who assisted the ‘Gers second goal after winning the ball out on the ‘Gers right flank around the half-way line before powering forward, cutting inside and slotting in goalscorer Michael McKenna, earned an incredible 82% of the voting, making this the most one-sided vote yet.

His strike partner Darren Lavery picked up one half of the remaining 18% of voting, his tireless efforts up front not going unappreciated. Darren also found the net after just three minutes, showing his improvement in aerial battles by rising tallest from a McKenna corner and nodding home.

The other 9% goes to Finn Graham, who was employed from a slightly wider position than usual. However, Graham’s energy and attitude impressed out on the ‘Gers right flank and Finn finds himself nominated for the award for the third time in a week, after finishing runner-up in Kilmarnock and being nominated against Stirling Albion.
